Training

LCI’s primary mission is to train people to relate in a “biblically informed and shaped” manner — in a manner that gives hope, direction, encouragement and conviction to others whether that is in a counseling situation, a small group, a mentoring relationship or a casual conversation.

LCI helps individuals develop relationships that mirror, in some small way, how God or Christ relates to us — with grace, authority, wisdom and compassion. Everything we do is designed to help others be free to relate well and deeply. We seek to help individuals see past defenses and resistance, to see how one’s story might still be affecting the present, to see where there are falsehoods and misconceptions that are robbing us of life and freedom to follow God, and to recognize the strength and dignity in another that is striving to break out!

Levels of Training

The LCI model, ideally, has 3 stages or levels. They occur in sequence, taken over an extended period of time. The order and content of the levels is also sequential and intentional.

The Glorious Mess/Level 1

We call this “The Glorious Mess” because it addresses the basics — who we are and how we relate. We have added a Lab segment to our Glorious Mess Training that leads people through a small group experience.

Level 2 Our Counseling Model

This training addresses our model for counseling — a model for relating to another who is struggling.

Level 3 Supervision

This is ongoing training and supervision — a case-by-case application of the Scriptures, the model, and the categories presented in Levels 1 and 2.
