Training Schedule

Level 2 Training sessions:

Those recommended for lay counselor training and other helping ministries will be encouraged to enter LCI’s Level 2 Training. It meets monthly for a 2 hour evening session over a period of 10 months for specific training in the counseling process.

Level 2 Training’s areas of focus are:

• Familiarity with the stages of counseling – assessment, establishing trust, exploring the issues, critical points in pursuing change and growth, and termination
• The goal of counseling and a counseling model
• Sexuality and identity
• Dealing with shame, contempt, trauma and loss
• Cutting through layers, overcoming resistance and defenses
