  Introduction…
LCI assists the church with its lay counseling programs, training, and administration. As described by Paul in II Corinthians, one important element of a gospel ministry is the delivery of divine comfort and encouragement in the midst of suffering and troubles. The church’s unique privilege is its ability to lawfully deliver this ministry without licensure and without charge. Many churches find that this can be done well by certain members of the congregation working under the auspices of the church. Thus, the lay counseling ministry must be the church’s ministry. LCI does not own or operate the ministry.

The Lay Counselor Institute (LCI) is a non-profit organization that assists the local church in establishing and growing an effective ministry of biblical counseling by identifying and training caring and gifted believers who are grounded in their knowledge of the Bible and committed to biblical counseling.
